Canada Pension Plan Disability Benefits (CPP-D)
To be eligible people must:
- Be under age 65
- Have a severe and prolonged disability
- Have met the contributory requirements
For more information on eligibility and application, please click here.
If you are between the ages of 60-64 and think you may qualify for both a disability benefit and a retirement benefit, you can speak to your social worker about which to apply for, or consult the Service Canada website (above).
If you are potentially eligible for both CPP-D and PWD, please talk to your social worker about how and when to apply for each of these benefits.
**We recommend getting the help of an advocate to help you fill out your CPP-D application.
